Our Vision

Did you know that in Italy a town or village has as its center a piazza?  It is what we would call in America a town square or large courtyard.  Typically there is a fountain or well in the center where one draws water to drink.  La piazza is where friends encounter friends, relationships are formed, and meetings take place.  It is where one goes to shop, hear a concert, or relax after a hard day’s work.  It is the center of activity.  If you were to visit a city, town or village in Italy you would find a multitude of piazzas.  If you went to a piazza it would be easy to meet new friends as the Italians are a friendly, outgoing people.  However, if you went to the piazza in search of Christian fellowship, you would have difficulty finding a brother or sister in Christ.  The piazzas, and Italy as a whole, have very few evangelical Christians.  Our vision is to see that change.  Our vision is to fill the piazzas with evangelical Christians.  Would you be willing to share in that vision with us?

Ministry Highlights

April 2, 2012

Ahhh, spring has come early here in Friuli and we are so thankful for the warm weather. The trees and flowers are in full bloom and it looks like it will be a beautiful Easter.  We have much to celebrate this Easter and are excited to share it with you.  Our English classes have brought us many new contacts as well as many returning students. Our new ESL teachers have done a great job getting to know the students in their age group and have shared the gospel with several young Italian women. Please pray for Laura, Daniella, and Flavia in particularly.  Maureen has been discipling three Italian women (Paula, Barbara, and Claudia) who are seeking to understand the truth of the gospel.  She meets with each of them individually once a week. She has also been leading a Ladies Bible Study in Italian entitled, 'Being a Mary in a Martha World'. Please pray for Loredana and Lilliana who are asking great questions like...how do you know if you believe?  In addition to this, we have a weekly Adult Bible Study in our home with an open invitation to all our English students.  We have had 10 different students attend at various times. Tom also continues to meet with Carlo and encourage him in his walk. We are seeing the Holy Spirit move in mighty ways as we witness to the lost in Northern Italy and are anxiously awaiting to see the fruit.

Our most exciting news is the opening of our new church plant in Pordenone on Easter Sunday.  Pordenone has a population of 90,000+ including surrounding communities and is the closest big town to our area. This facility will be a blessing to our ministry as it is only 20 minutes away from where we are currently offering English classes and doing Bible studies.  Distance will not be an obstacle when inviting our students to church as it is normal for them to commute to Pordenone for work and shopping. The church will offer several community outreach programs such as a 'Mommy Play Date' program 2 days a week, similar to MOPS in the U.S., and English conversation classes. This church plant is considered a sister church to our Udine church plant and we are having a combined service in Pordenone on Easter Sunday to inaugurate our new church.
