La Piazza Press

Current Happenings - April 16, 2007

When the Lord moves, he some times moves at break neck speed.  This is our last month here in Ft. Myers, FL and we are both feeling lots of emotions.  Here are some highlights:  

• March 23^rd we purchased our tickets for Italy. Yeah!
• March 31^st we had a yard sale of all of our “stuff”, scary how much we accumulated.  (We also, sold most of our furniture.)
• April 3^rd we closed on the sale of our home.
• April 9^th Maureen had surgery.  She is recovering nicely, but can’t lift anything for 6 weeks.  (Not much moving help!)
• April 11^th Tom resigned from his position from ADP.
• April 14^th our Sunday School class had a packing party for us.
• On April 28^th, our Sunday school class is again coming to our rescue and helping us load the U-Haul.  What a blessing!
• April 30^th we move.

For a lot of the last few months Maureen has been stressed, but now seems to have reached an emotional comfortableness, and now Tom is stressed to the max.  Please pray for both of us to be able to relax and enjoy this exciting journey together.   

We thank you all for your encouragement and prayers.  The spoken words of support along with your prayers have helped sustain us this last year.  We are now at a point of moving into the field in the next 90 days and will start to receive our financial income from all of you that have pledged monthly support to us….Thank you!

Prayers for Italy

Emi, who accepted Christ last month has lots of questions in her new found faith.  Please pray for protection over her heart and that she would grow in her faith.  Barbara and Claudio, two ESL students, have been coming to Bible study and seem to be on the brink of accepting Christ.  Roberto, another ESL student, is showing interest in coming to Bible study.  Pray for the Holy Spirit's leading. 

April Schedule

April finds us packing, moving, selling furniture, applying for visas and international health insurance, and support raising.  Pray for perseverance! 

Support Update

The Lord has given us 81 prayer partners and 40 financial partners.  We praise the Lord for all of you!  With all these prayers going up on our behalf, we should have no fear.  In the Old Testament, the Lord told Joshua, "Be strong and courageous!"  We, likewise, are trying to follow those orders.  Our “TO DO” list has gone up and down like a yoyo, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel……with one exception...our monthly support. The Euro has continued to push the exchange rate in the wrong direction; we are losing about 30% of every US Dollar. To be bold, we need your help. If you have not already done so, please consider joining our financial support team……as the saying goes “many hands make the load light”.  Our monthly short fall is $1,642.  Any amount of monthly support you could give would be greatly appreciated.  We will be hard pressed to do all that the ministry requires us to do with out it.  Please pray about your involvement in reaching the Italian people for Jesus.
