Current Happenings - February 06, 2007

January was an exciting and busy month for us.  Tom has been doing his best to juggle his full time job and support raising for our ministry all at the same time.  Last month we were able to meet with two churches and several individuals.

Maureen made her twelfth mission trip to Haiti.  She led a Women's Bible Study and participated in an outreach event among other things.  During the outreach event she shared her testimony and felt led to share some scriptures from Romans, what's commonly known as 'The Roman Road'.  Afterward the pastor asked if anyone wanted to accept Christ.  A man named Michelle came forward and gave his heart to Jesus.  The team was so excited to see this as it is very uncommon in the Haitian culture for someone to come forward in a public setting.  Please pray that Michelle will grow in his faith and love of our Lord.

In Italy, our team has been busy ramping up for another English as a Second Language semester.  We now have classes in three towns- Udine, Valvasone, and Zoppola.  This semester there are 65 students enrolled.  That is 65 opportunities to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Home Bible studies begin February 8th, and will meet for four weeks.   The topic will be "Is Jesus the only way?"  On February 10^th, a Valentine's dinner is being served and they are hoping for 25-30 guests. Please pray that God will be glorified through this event.  We are so anxious to be with our team in Italy and be apart of this ministry.  Pray that our monthly support would come in quickly so we can join them.  To God be the glory, the ministry is growing by leaps and bounds.  "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."  Luke 10:2 

When God Speaks

Since we began this journey the Lord has blessed us in so many ways, but especially in our quiet times.  This last month the Lord has spoken to us about being The Foolishness of God.  1 Corinthians 1:25-27 says the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom.  It goes on to say that we should think of what we were when we were called (not wise, influential, etc.).  We often wonder way God chose us to serve Him in Italy.  But God says he chooses the foolish things of this world, so that no one may boast.  And we say Hallelujah to that!

February Schedule

During February we will be support raising in Florida.  February 7-12, we will be participating in the Global Impact Mission Conference at McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL.

Support Update

Praise the Lord we are now at 80% of our outgoing expenses.  The Lord has given us 65 prayer partners and 27 financial partners.  We praise the Lord for all of you!  Our greatest need is still ongoing monthly support.  Please pray for more individuals to commit to supporting us monthly.  "God owns all the cattle on a thousand hills."  Psalm 50:10  We continue to rejoice as we see cows being sacrificed for the mission field in Italy.
