La Piazza Press
La Piazza Press is our monthly
newsletter that we use to keep everyone informed of
our progress as
missionaries with Saint's Equipped to Evangelize in
San Lorenzo, Italy. Our vision is to see the
piazzas (town squares) filled with evangelical
Christians. Would you be willing to share in
that vision? If so, please click the Subscribe

Ministry Highlights
- February 7, 2008
January was a busy month.
We returned to Italy along with two new ESL instructors.
Maureen held a three day training meeting with her growing
staff of five. They then distributed flyers for the
upcoming ESL classes and completed a week of registration.
We are excited to report that we have 132 adults and 50 some
children registered for ESL. Classes began on the 4th.
We also have a guitar instructor this semester who will be
giving free guitar lessons with the purpose of spreading the
gospel. We have a lot of new students this semester
giving us new witnessing opportunities. Elena, a
seventeen year old advanced student, is still showing
interest in the gospel and is reading the Bible that we gave
her at Thanksgiving. We are very encouraged.
Please pray for her! This proves to be a very excited semester.
We are anxious to see what God will do.
Saints Bibles Institute just
received a record number of U.S. Bible students...23.
They arrived Friday, February 1 and began classes on the 4th.
Tom is back in Florida attending a missions conference at
McGregor Baptist Church and will return on the 11th.
Personal Highlights
Our friends, Fred and
Louise Ruggles, are here visiting us for two months.
It is so wonderful to have friends from home.
They will be helping Maureen teach ESL as well as
doing some vacationing. We believe it is God's
perfect timing for them to be here with us at this
time as we have a record number of students and need
all the help we can get. Praise the Lord!
We are now in the
process of obtaining our Permesso di Soggiornos, one
of the many documents you need to become a legal
resident in Italy. The Italian bureaucracy is
like no other. We could write paragraphs, but
we won't. Please pray for patience on our part
as we go through all the crazy red tape. Maybe
we'll write a book one day.
February
Schedule
ESL classes began February
4 and will continue through the end of April.
Maureen is busy updating the curriculum, teaching,
and making contacts with unbelievers. She
holds a Bible study and staff meeting with the ESL instructors every Monday to review the ESL
curriculum for the week and to pray for their
contacts. Tom is attending a missions
conference at McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers,
FL. He will return on the 11th to his
administrative duties. We are also continuing
with our Italian lessons.
Support Update
Our monthly short
fall is $1,442. Please pray that the Lord would
provide additional monthly supporters. Italy
needs the Good News! We are hard
pressed to do all that the ministry requires without
full support.
To become apart of our financial support
team, make your check payable to Saints Equipped to
Evangelize. Put our names on the memo line and
indicate whether it is a special or monthly gift.
All contributions are tax deductible. Mail your check to:
