La Piazza Press
La Piazza Press is our monthly
newsletter that we use to keep everyone informed of
our progress as
missionaries with Saint's Equipped to Evangelize in
San Lorenzo, Italy. Our vision is to see the
piazzas (town squares) filled with evangelical
Christians. Would you be willing to share in
that vision? If so, please click the Subscribe

Ministry Highlights
- June 6, 2008
Over the last few months
we have shared with you many parts of our ministry...the
English as a Second Language School, the spring and summer
evangelistic street ministries, the Bible school, Saints Bible Institute,
the church plant, and our many outreach events. This
month we wanted to share with you are job responsibilities.
After almost a year now, our
areas of responsibility have evolved and become more clear
and distinct. For many years Saints Equipped to
Evangelize has been a small ministry and historically many
tasks were done on an as needed basis, thus the lines
of responsibility were often blurred. This was a positive
thing, because if something needed to be done, everyone was
willing help get the job done. Now that our ministry is
expanding and the Lord continues to increase our numbers, we
have needed to refocus all of our efforts and redefine areas
of responsibility. This is especially true as our
director Sam Spatola and his wife Chris must transition back
to the U.S. due to some serious family medical issues.
Currently, Tom's responsibilities
include much of the communication with the Bradenton office,
fielding and replying to SEE emails and phone calls,
maintaining the new staff hiring process, field
accounting, reviewing and searching out new relationships
for Saints Equipped to Evangelize and Saints Bible
Institute, supporting and assisting the SBI staff as needed,
and working along side the visiting evangelisms teams.
What Tom believes the Lord has called him to do, is to assist the staff and short term evangelism
teams by doing the little things that allows the SEE
team to do the big things.
Maureen's responsibilities
include heading up the ABC Language School, ministering to
the ESL instructors, scheduling classes, writing curriculum,
meeting with students to share the gospel, teaching ESL, and coordinating ESL
outreach events. In addition to this, she is currently in
the process of translating into Italian a woman's Bible
study, "Apples of Gold".
Personal Highlights
Maureen returned to
the U.S. May 7th. She has been spending some
quality time with our children, grandchildren, and
her mother. She also did a presentation of our
ministry to two elementary schools...one in
Pennsylvania and one in Florida. Tom has been
busy in Italy helping ramp up for our first-ever
Summer semester at S.B.I. Seven students
arrived from Liberty University and began class on
June 2.
June
Schedule
Maureen
returns to Italy on June 20th just in time for the
SEE staff meeting and to greet our first summer
mission team from McGregor Baptist Church. In
the meantime, she is completing her annual doctor
visits and working on ESL curriculum. Tom
continues his administrative duties and is anxiously
awaiting Maureen's return.
Support Update
We are at 80% of our
monthly support. Our short
fall is $972. Please pray that the Lord will
continue to
provide additional monthly supporters. Italy
needs the Good News! We are hard
pressed to do all that the ministry requires without
full support.
To become a part of our financial support
team, make your check payable to Saints Equipped to
