La Piazza Press
La Piazza Press is our monthly
newsletter that we use to keep everyone informed of
our progress towards our goal of becoming
missionaries with Saint's Equipped to Evangelize in
San Lorenzo, Italy. Our vision is to see the
piazzas (town squares) filled with evangelical
Christians. Would you be willing to share in
that vision? If so, please click the Subscribe

Current Happenings
- June 20, 2007
On June 16, our daughter
Brittany married Stephen Marshall. It was a beautiful
wedding and a very fun reception. Maureen read 1
Corinthians 13 as part of the wedding celebration and
enjoyed dancing with our grandsons during the reception.
As Tom walked Brittany down the aisle he had a hard time
chocking back the tears. We rejoice in gratitude of
God's choice for our daughter. Stephen is a prince.
On June 18, Tom flew out of
Newark Airport on Alitalia heading for San Lorenzo, Italy.
It was a bitter sweet departure as Maureen stood at the curb
kissing her husband goodbye for the next two months.
Tom had packed five suitcases to the brim (one too many and
another one overweight). We prayed that morning that
God would help us with the excess baggage problem. So,
when the sky cap at the curb said we would have to pay an
additional $200, we wondered what God was going to do.
Tom went inside to the counter to pay, however, the Alitalia
ticket agent said, "Don't worry about it and have a nice
flight". God is so gracious!
From the Italian Front
Tom arrived in San
Lorenzo on June 19 minus the oversized duffle bag
with all his clothes. Fortunately, it arrived
the following day just in time for him to change
clothes and head for Udine to participate in an
outdoor concert. This is one of the many
outreach projects that Tom will be involved in
throughout the summer. Talk about hitting
the streets running! Tom is currently working
with two short-term teams. The concert was
a big success. Many people showed up to listen
to the music and then stayed to hear the gospel
message. Four people remained after the
presentation and talked with the missionaries.
They were invited to attend our church plant and
demonstrated interest in coming.
Maureen will join Tom
on August 20th. Once she arrives, we
will find a place to live and Maureen will begin
organizing the fall semester of English as a Second
Language. This is offered free of charge to
Italians for the purpose of telling them about Jesus
and winning them to Christ.
June
Schedule
Tom will be traveling
with various short-term teams throughout Italy
bringing the gospel message to the lost. These
teams will be holding outdoor evangelistic concerts
in various town piazzas, as well as conducting
mimes, puppet shows, and chalk talks.
Maureen is spending some quality grandma time at our cabin in
Pennsylvania and continues to fund raise.
