Current Happenings - March 17, 2007

God did what only God can do!

On 2/22/07 we received an email from a realtor that said, "Home Sellers Advised to Get Real on Prices.  With 23,000 houses and condos on the market in our county and the number rising, a residential construction market is likely to slow dramatically this year as builders work through a backlog of homes ordered in better times.  In spite of what you want to believe, we've not hit bottom yet and won't until the inventory of existing homes starts to shrink."

So, in this kind of market, is it possible that God could bring multiple buyers to our door step on the same day to ensue a bidding war for our very average house and end up with an offer $2,000 over our asking price.  OF COURSE HE CAN!  And that’s exactly what He did on 2/22.  And, on that same day, we received our Monthly Support Statement from S.E.E. showing we are now at 100% of our outgoing expense.  How great is our God!

You know when God moves you just have to fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride.  It's like being on the biggest roller coaster you have ever been on...fun, scary, and you can't wipe the smile off your face!  We close on April 4, move our personal belongings to our cabin in PA, and then attend language school in Colorado.  Tom will leave for Italy in June and I will follow in August.  In the meantime, we have to get our visas (quite a process), sell our furniture, finish raising our monthly support, and complete a three page To Do List. Yikes!  Although we are at 100% of our Outgoing Expense, we are only at 54% of our Ongoing Monthly Expense.  We must raise $2,230 monthly before we can leave.  You have all been so wonderful to us with your prayer and financial support and we wouldn't be at that 100% mark without you.  If you haven't taken that leap of faith yet to be one of our monthly supporters, would you consider making such a commitment now?  God says, "We have not, because we ask not!"  So, forgive our boldness but at this point in our journey we must boldly ask.

Happenings in Italy

We want to share some wonderful news.  Emi, a young woman who has been attending church and Monday night Bible studies at our church plant in Udine, asked Jesus into her heart!!  She is very excited and very eager to learn.  We are praising God and I know you will praise Him along with us. Please pray for her as she grows in her new found faith.  Even though you may never meet Emi, she is your sister in Christ.

March Schedule

March finds us packing, holding a yard sell, selling furniture, applying for visas, and support raising.  Pray for perseverance! 

Support Update

Praise the Lord we are now at 100% of our outgoing expenses.  The Lord has given us 68 prayer partners and 31 financial partners.  We praise the Lord for all of you!  Our greatest need is still ongoing monthly support.  Please pray for more individuals to commit to supporting us monthly.  "God owns all the cattle on a thousand hills."  Psalm 50:10  We continue to rejoice as we see cows being sacrificed for the mission field in Italy.
