"Italy Factoid"

Italy's persistent problems include a growing Muslim population.  We have noticed an increasing Muslim presence at the Venice airport and much of northeast Italy.  Christianity has lost much of the E.U. to Islam.  Please follow this link for more information on the consequences of Europe turning Muslim.

La Piazza Press

La Piazza Press is our monthly newsletter that we use to keep everyone informed of our progress as missionaries with Saint's Equipped to Evangelize in San Lorenzo, Italy.  Our vision is to see the piazzas (town squares) filled with evangelical Christians.  Would you be willing to share in that vision?  If so, please click the Subscribe button above to receive our monthly newsletter.  For more information, you can visit our website at www.littlesitaly.com

Ministry Highlights - November 9, 2007

The “things” they are a changing……October has been a huge month for us here at SEE. The Bible school, Saints Bible Institute, has signed an agreement with Liberty University to be their “study abroad” school. That means SBI should be able to reach its full potential of 40 students each semester. This also means more young Christians will be exposed to the real need for more missionaries and resources in Italy.

Three people were baptized, on Friday, October 26th, in a very cold stream that runs near the SEE Center, two SBI students and a local new believer. The new believer, an Albanian woman, is been being discipled by Maria, our chef at S.B.I., an Italian national.

We continue to build relationships with the local Italians which is our passion.  Our neighbors, Luciano and Santina, have been discussing the differences between Catholicism and Protestantism and seem open to the gospel.  We gave them a copy of the Gospel of John and they have made a commitment to read it.  Reading the Bible and praying is a new concept for them as they have always been discouraged from doing so by their families and the church.  Please pray for Luciano and Santina to come to Christ.

PTL! Carlo, whom we mentioned in previous newsletters, was baptized on Sunday, November 4th. The baptism was during our normal Sunday evening service.  Carlo shared his testimony and a clear gospel presentation was given.  Several church members brought unsaved guests and there were a few teary eyes in the audience.  It was a great time of witnessing and celebration.  We then held a potluck dinner and enjoyed the fellowship of our church family.

One of our Church planting couples, Ken and Ruth Ann Wells just completed a Bible study on the book of Job.  Italian attendance grew each week and several of them came to Carlo’s baptism.  We are anxiously looking forward to see how the LORD will work in their lives.

Personal Highlights

Our friends the Howards and the Crawfords visited us in October.  What a welcome visit from the good old U.S. of A.  We took a short trip to Venice with them and had mucho funo!  We enjoyed visiting many historical sites and the girls shopped until they dropped.  Needless to say, it was a tearful goodbye.

We have a couple prayer needs.  Almost all of us have had the “flu” or colds, certainly not life threatening, but just plain uncomfortable and interfering with our witnessing opportunities.  Also, please pray for the Lord to heal one of our staff members who is having equilibrium problems.  Testing has revealed a lack of correct blood flow to her brain.

 November Schedule

Maureen is feverishly preparing for our Thanksgiving Outreach and anticipates an attendance of 100+.  She also continues teaching ESL, leading a Ladies Bible Study, and building relationships with her students in order to share the gospel.  Tom continues with his administrative duties, Italian lessons, and weekly fellowship with Carlo.

Support Update

The Lord has given us 101 prayer partners and 56 financial partners.  We praise the Lord for all of you!  Our monthly short fall is $822.  We are all experiencing the negative effects of the USD/Euro exchange rate.  We are getting about $.50 on the dollar. We also realize that many of you are experiencing difficult economic times at home.  Rest assured that you are in our prayers.  At the same time, we are hard pressed to do all that the ministry requires without full support.  So, as the year draws close to an end, we humbly ask you to consider our ministry in your year-end and ongoing giving.  Italy needs to know the Good News!

To become apart of our financial support team, make your check payable to Saints Equipped to Evangelize.  Put our names on the memo line and indicate whether it is a special or monthly gift.  All contributions are tax deductible.  Mail your check to:
