La Piazza Press
La Piazza Press is our monthly
newsletter that we use to keep everyone informed of
our progress as
missionaries with Saint's Equipped to Evangelize in
San Lorenzo, Italy. Our vision is to see the
piazzas (town squares) filled with evangelical
Christians. Would you be willing to share in
that vision? If so, please click the Subscribe

Ministry Highlights
- October 6, 2007
We spent most of September in
class with the American Bible students leaning all
about evangelism, missions, and church planting. We
learned a lot and are feeling more prepared for our
ministry. September was also a month of preparation for the
ESL classes. We distributed over 10,000 flyers in
mailboxes and in retail stores advertising the classes.
We have over 100 students registered in Udine and Valvasone.
This is a record number of registrations giving us many
opportunities to share the gospel. We began classes
the last week of September and are already building
relationships with the students. Maureen was able to
to take some homemade chicken noodle soup to one student who
missed class because of the flue. She also worked in
the garden of two other students helping them prepare for
winter. This is all part of the relationship building
process. Please pray with us for many opportunities to
share the gospel.
Tom continues to meet with
Carlo and encourage him in his new found faith. He has been busy with his administrative duties as well as
assisting with the Bible school. This past week was
ministry week for the students. Tom along with the
Bible school leaders escorted the
students to numerous towns in the surrounding area
distributing tracks, performing mimes, chalk talks, etc. all
for the purpose of reaching the lost here in northern Italy.
Personal Highlights
We had some ups and
downs in September, but definitely more ups than
downs. We had a car accident the beginning of the month but praise the
Lord no one was hurt. We should be getting our van
back soon. Our internet comes and goes mostly because
of the weather. It seems that it doesn't like rain.
Praise the Lord it is up more than it is down.
We've started Italian classes and are progressing slowly
but surely. Valvasone held their annual Medieval
Festival the beginning of September. It was fun living
in the middle of all the festivities.
September was also grape harvesting time.
Maureen had some fun joining the harvesters across the
street from the Bible school one day during our lunch break.
October
Schedule
Maureen is teaching
ESL, leading a Ladies Bible Study, and building
relationships with her students in order to share
the gospel. She is also assisting in
organizing the annual Thanksgiving dinner outreach
event. Tom continues with his administrative
duties. We also continue in our Italian lessons.
Support Update
The Lord
has given us 100 prayer partners and 55 financial
partners. We praise the Lord for all of you! Our
monthly short fall has dropped to $877. Any amount you could
give would be greatly appreciated. We are hard
pressed to do all that the ministry requires without
it. Please pray about your involvement in
reaching the Italian people for Jesus.
To become apart of our financial support
team, make your check payable to Saints Equipped to
Evangelize. Put our names on the memo line and
indicate whether it is a special or monthly gift.
